Democracy Day: In Searching of Lasting Democracy

I was born in the month of May
And the Lord of May bless that month
Making it so special that our nation
Was visited by that Lord of May
Making her become democrat on that same month
May 29 was the day she become a democrat state

But after many years
The question on every lips is
Are we really democrat indeed and practice
Does the constitution live out what was written in it?
Not just written but been lived out practice to the letter

To every minute details
Or we are just chasing shadow
Walking in the dark fooling ourselves
Never want to come to the knowledge of the truth
Everything seem not to be fine but we carry along as if all is well

We’ve come thus far
And I see that now is the time
To wake up search for that missing black goat
Before night falls or else it will be lost forever
We are in search of that lasting democracy

Where and how was it lost?
When was it lost?
What happen to it?
We’ve got to ask questions
To seek nothing else but real truthful sincere answer
We can’t seat and pretends as if all is well even in the well

I call on every one
Who believes in this nation?
Who got what it takes to wake up to the call
The call of nation building is never to left to certain individuals
That calls to change the course of our beloved nation

Am not calling for complainers
Neither am calling those who have lost faith
Am not calling on government critics
Neither am I searching for a temporal democracy
But am in search of a lasting democracy
And that person is no other person but you reading this! With myself not left out

Democracy Day: Recovering the Lost Democracy

I know we’ve been through a lot
As a nation in the past years

Has become so many troubles
With heartaches that comes along with
Event unfold with each attached with bitter experiences

The government is thrown into confusion
As she has lost its efficacy and immunity
Leaving sheltered and whether by the storm that ravage the state of the nation
As caution is thrown into the wind
No trust, faith and confident anymore

Everything is in deserter
Each one watches out for himself
No one wants to arise to duty
Folding hands seating just there
Wanting to do less to nothing

What can I do?
Am I the government?
Things have been this way for long
Let me too have the national cake
Without not saying anything

Yet each day
Things are getting spoil
No hope of redemption
Its song are gone to lost
Is this how will can recover the lost democracy

That was lost
To corruption…nepotism
Drunken with the wine of malpractice
Intoxicated with low infrastructural facilities
We march on from one celebration to another

Yet everything remain the same
Carrying along with the slogan
It will get better lets shall be praying
One day all will be well even in the well

Dig so deep within
Far beyond human comprehension
That we often ask ourselves
Where is this country going to? What is she turning into?

Democracy: Where Do Will Go from Here?

Will have come this far
We can not afford to loose out
In the age long time war of it all
Through this years we’ve stood up
Standing tall blazing each challenges as they come

The storm that has be whether our land

The system is infected with virus
And yet the antivirus never runs out of date
Still afresh fighting the virus been up to date
Where do will go from here?

Should we still remain where we are?
Claiming, pretending all along as though nothing is happening
And yet the problems keep uprising never down rising
Are will going to seat and watch what our hero past
Deteriorate amounting to waste as their labour been in vain

See I say No to that will can’t just afford to fail
Wake up to nothing but nation building
No one, I repeat no one can build this nation for us
But we, you and I got to build this nation
Because this is your land my own fatherland

Talking, complaining, abusing and criticism
Will never take us to no where but right there on one spot
The time has past the hour of round table talks
With so much long time in the conference room
Without no action either concrete result

Now is the time of innovation
Lets move, talk-less and with much action
Action in the government of the day
Among its citizens doing what is utmost right
Making sure everyone is a watch to his/her neighbour

Where do will go from here?
As citizens are you not sick and tired of it all
This are the days when we got to know the true parrot
Of this great nation of ours now is that time
As will embark on this course of nation building.
Putting the system back to work
The power sector…education sector
Political sector…the economic sector
Infrastructural with the social life of the people

Democracy Day: Its Dividend

How long have we been here?
At this hallowed spot when we emerge
To take the baton of been democrat
In practice and in the government of our beloved nation
After so many years and how far has it been

Many years has come and gone
When democracy was born into the system
But what of now how is it and how well has it been
Have we succeed retain the relay intention of democrat
In governance of the our beloved country

A country where peace and justice reigns
Has it not turn out to be a place where injustice prevail
In the land or where tranquility is ruled out
Corruption, corruption has never been sent to life in jail
Still fighting without any sign of conquest

Democracy Day: Its dividend
Of what have we achieve for the past fourteen years
We’ve been democrat what has those fourteen solid years become
Have we able to attain been a democrat state
Or we still practicing the military rule in disguise of been democrat

Has it not come to terms?
That all this shading corrupt practice
Must leave the country to that journey of no return
See we’ve got to awake to nation building
The past fourteen years has been so many tremendous happening

We can’t afford to wait for God knows when
Saying with the age long term slogan
One day e go better, which day will that day be?
When are will going to really gain independent from all this menace
See that to that

My fellow comrade
Is time to held that call to nation building
We come thus far we know the truth now
Not like those days anymore each one should ask questions
Seeking a prefer working solution
Enough of the endless round table conference

Democracy: In Face of the State of the Nation

The country today
Is scheduled with various issues
Each day issues kept uprising
The moment we are trying to solve one
Another one spring up with wow speech

Each sector of the economic
Is face with the greatest hazard
Of insecurity not been able to face it up
The power is over killing as business suffers retrogression
Many stays afloat others suffer insolvency

The state of the nation today
With democracy will thought
We could actually move forward
As at when democracy was born
But many years has come and gone

What has that practice been able to achieve
And of what innovation has we done
Between then and now after fourteen years
Of the arrival and birth of democracy
Have fully been able to say yes of a truth we are democrat

Democrat! Really
In practice or lifestyle
In ruling or ruled
Among the laws and customs of the land
In reformation and transformation
Democracy today is it as the same things as five years ago

See the time has gone past the  hours
So wake up we can not just afford
To fool ourself again pretending all is well
When nothing is fine at all let’s call a spade, a spade
Can’t you see that all is not well?

All what is needed now is change, yes a passionate change
Change void of violence and all manners of selfish ambition
But must come with a peaceful protest
In protesting we must not sacrifice self dignity in place of bribery
We must seek to see everything comes to normalcy and done in a right well
