NIGERIA: JOY TURNS TO MOURNING.
Beneath the skies of holiday cheer
Crowds gathered with hopes sincere
In Oyo, Abuja and Anambra's lane
Laughter dissolved to cries of pain
As stampedes left a harrowing stain.
The air was thick with dreams untold
Hands outstretched for promises bold
Yet in the crush despair would rise
Turning bright hopes into anguished cries
As life ebbed away before our eyes.
The fair that promised festive delight
Became a battlefield, a chilling sight
Mothers wept for children lost,
A tragic reminder of the human cost
When order fades and chaos is tossed.
Oh, the weight of promises unmet
Of safeguards lost and lessons to beget
The hunger for aid, the rush to survive
Should not end lives that strive to thrive
But demand safety to keep hope alive.
May these wounds teach us to reform
To shield the frail from the storm
Let future gatherings bring no sorrow
But pave the way for brighter tomorrow
Where joy won’t to mourning bow.
HUNGER AMIDST STAMPEDING.
Should the country live on palliative?
How can a rich country be eating
Like rat of the crunches falling
Off from the table and the masses
Was left to pinot to feed on.
Why won't there be stampeding
Fine there is hunger in the land
Not just hunger but starvation
Accompanying the said hunger
This is not just hunger but.
On the part of the government
That failed us but the organizers
Failed to provide good crowd
Control technique making the whole
Situation escalating to an inevitable quiet end.
Hunger amidst starvation
Leading to stempeding
Lives were lost death toll
Keep rising up no proper
Human management control.
