HOW FAR HAVE WILL GONE AFTER INDEPENDENCE?

Who would have thought so long ago
After the independence many years had come and gone
And still we are still living life and let's live abi
Are will really living or merely existing
Chasing an empty shadow within
That cannot stand up erect by itself.

We still depend on lining an object to stand
To gain our stamina and we carried on with life
Just as nothing has happened these past years
After independent will are stilling in yesteryears of life
With nothing to recon to how far we have gone
Between that time and this time.

Have we gone from dependency?
To a nation whose dependency is on her own
Or are we still chasing what we shouldn’t chase
How far consumables are we producing
What we consume back at home or still importing
Our far our gross domestic product is going up or sliding into inflation.

As the citizens is accustomed to suffering
Our leaders are our problems
As they have so been intoxicated and drunk with power
So after their own self looting of the nation’s treasury
Inflicting untold suffering on the masses
The same masses that voted them into power.

How far have will gone after independence?
Are will still seeing the nation doing well
Or still running from this meeting to that meeting
Borrowing money enslave the whole citizens
Into generational debt servicing all in the name of developing our country.

NIGERIA @61: THOUGHTS ON LEADERSHIP

We have a lot of educated people
In so many leadership position
In the country today be it
Governor, house of rep and so much
But yet this country hasn't move forward

From where it has been for so long
In many years ago still remains the same
One of the reason we have poor leadership
Is because of lack of accountability
There is no consequences

Having a good education
Actually cost no money
But still on still you have to put
More money investing in education
Because schools need to be built

Teachers needs to be recruited
And salaries needs to be paid
And necessary things has to be put in place
We need money to fix up all these things
Nigeria @61 thought on leadership

What we have in Nigeria
Are leaders who are not expose
Who are not educated
Because a leader without education
Can never deliver a good leadership

In the health workers association
We have crisis rocking this union
The NLC aren't left out in this crisis
The house or reps too having crisis
All these people are educated fellow

Until we set the pace right
And fine tune a well groom leaders
Who are not just educated alone
But also competent to deliver
But the process don't allow any competent

There is a cultural problem
Likewise value problem as well
Until all these are set out well
Then and only then we move this nation
From where it is now to where it should be.

NIGERIA MY WAKANDA

As a nation we need to go back
To our values we must focus on
Integrity, honesty and fairness in all
I want to see a Nigeria where
Everything walks to its fullest potentials

Finance…
Where everyone is held accountable
To how each kobo of this great nation
Resources is been spent and on what
Making integrity the watch word
When it comes to finance

Education…
The bedrock on which so many things rest on
Because to educate is to liberate
We must seek to restore back the hope
Back into Nigerians whose lost faith in this great nation
Nigeria my wakanda

Technology…
To innovate we must set forth
Our best foot forward
We must make sure that is our best people
That goes into the public services
In chasing innovation driven by experience
Nigeria my Wakanda must be reality not just a movie

NIGERIA IN ACRONYM
Now / sense of urgency
Integrity
Growth we must grow the national cake
Excellence / execution
Restore / rebuild
Innovation
All of us are guilty / all hands on deck Nigeria must work for all

We all must make sure that
Nigeria my wakanda
A reality not just a movie

NO INDEPENDENCE

What’s the essence of independent?
Without nothing like freedom
To live the life our founding father
Carved out for this great motherland
Where we all live in fear of what befalls us

As our future (youths) the hope
That will rekindle the flame of our tomorrow
Have lost fate in the country
In which we stand today to celebrate
A lot is happening and still to come to happen

Citizens are suffering and smiling
Under the disguise of e go better
That is an age long motto
For how long are going to go this circle
Of a pig hole

Gathered at this hallowed spot Eagles’ square
The rich are getting richer at every blink of an eye
As the poor masses are at the mercy of the rich few
While the wealth of this great nation
Is left in the hands of selected few going round and round

Little wonder a song writer and singer
Asked a question so many years ago
Which Way Nigeria? That questions has lingered enough
For it to get the answer but alas the writer did not get answers
Until an inevitable quiet end visited him

We are just a prisoner in our homeland
The door of the prison is open
But the prisoners refuse to come out
That’s how we are here in this entity called the state
No independence because we are still dependent in so many ways

Where do we start from?
How do we get to this spot?
Where are we coming from?
Are we really independent or still dependent?
As state, as people and as a nation
Let’s think about this as we celebrate at 60

NIGERIA @59

There comes a time when silence
Becomes a big blow of betraying
When betraying has reach its peak
There comes a sober moment
Filled with so much thought leading to some questions

How has life been with us as a nation or statehood?
Are we really what they call us “the Giant of Africa”?
Or we’re just merely grasshoppers in the eyes of the world
What has become the dream of our hero’s past?
Their toils, labours and dream of this great nation

We’ve come thus far from the golden jubilee
We race from 50+ down to becoming 59
Yes! @59 how far, how well have we come thus far?
Its been a night and decades of prolong silence
In chase of emancipation from all that troubleth her as a nation

Has her leaders been able to deliver?
The thought of the hero’s past upon getting independence
Are we truly sincerely free from all what we suffered from?
The hands and chains of the colonial masters coupled with the slave masters
Who caught us as captive along the Badagry sea shores of this great nation

Nigeria@59
Are we living or merely existing?
How long ago did we pass bills
For the betterment of life of a common man on the street
How far our education system? What of the health sector? How far
Few human so selfish looting the country treasury

For us to move this country forward
And achieve the dreams of our founding fathers and mothers
It is all in our hands yes! The leaders have failed…corruption surrounds us
@59 if we continue to go on this road I tell you things will fall apart
@59 If we don’t define what we want we lose it all but we need to fix it.

HOW?
By working hand in hand to rebuild a better country not just for us,  but for the generations to come.

…NIGERIA OF OUR DREAM

One nation bound in freedom
Peace and unity for one and all
Irrespective of the creed and religious stand
We wish for our great country as she clocks 57
Will take this time out to pray for nothing but peace

Peace in all human dealings
From the one in the seat of power
To the one out there in the street the common man
To the ones whose voice is gone crack away
Nigeria of our dream

The Nigeria of our dream
Is to bring back home to the street called home
Of making the difference between the Nigeria of the fearful
And the Nigeria of the free from fear and worried
Where we go to bed with our eyes close

From the Nigeria of the corrupt mind
To the mind where corruption has no place in
Nigeria of our dream we seek as she attains this gaint strides
57 has been a long work so long
We pray we have a home to call a home our own

Happy 57th birthday our great country

God be with you and make you experience peace

Screaming For Independence

Fifty years a nation was born
Transform from been an existing land
To a statehood and later she attend nationhood
Transforming into republic
After so many years of series debate

On attaining independent
As each moment fades away
Gradually and little by little
She was left alone with her few selected citizen
To drive the course of her existence for life

That one meeting change the history
Of the whole affairs of that country
And she begin to rule her country
Base on the dedicates of the Queen
And for some times she got what it takes

To now stand alone
Government was good
People live in affluence
And no on is pointing accusing finger
On that government official

Then everyone work his hands to bone
To make sure they see the country
That they dream of and what to be
They walk while you are sleep
They scream against tribalism and nepotism

As corruption is seen as the greatest sin
Been a taboo that should be thought inside the heart
Talkless about to less to speak it out
Everyone serves as a watch dog towards his neighbour
So many years down the line fifty years has come and gone

Is it still that same way today
In the Nigeria of today where you and I live
See the masses suffering and smile
Going along with the same slogan “e go better”
For how long will seat and discuss on this spot

Yet nothing is working
Will have been in age long war with corruption
Yet we haven’t reach a conquest talkless of emancipation
At fifty seven (57) have we really been there
Is it really happy yet another independence celebration?
