STATE OF THE NATION: HOW DID WE GET HERE?!

Am not here to fan the fan of fear nor hate
Nor to create a chaos out of the ones
We already have on ground in the land
But am here to awaken some resonance
Of the question, how do we get here?

Neither am here to pour insult
On the fresh injury on a long wound
That we have nurse that refuses to heal
There is a lot going on in this country
That seeks urgent attention

We’ve talked and talk still talking
But for ages past no answer no action
Corruption is one of the menace
That we now take it as the air we breathe
In and out administrations come and go

Looting after looting ensue
If we keep folding our hands and look on
In another direction with the feeling 

It doesn’t concern me
Some day the treasury will be empty
Inflation we ensue 

Everything will crumble down

Then we wallow in endless borrowing
Plunging the generation unborn
Into generational debt servicing
And the trend goes on and on
How do we get here?

Many years ago 

We live in affluent of resources
No shady practices and dealings

As everyone is ready to serve
With the vision of what 

One can do for his country
The GDP was doing fine 

And every sector working well
But how far today

How do we get here?

Until we get all these fix up
We won’t get it right at all
No blame game…no complain
Enough of seating down on a round table
Talking for so long 

Without concrete result and action

Look back to the Confab of past years
That was stage 

How far has it gone 

Was it implemented well enough
Wasted resources, time and tax payers’ money
It has gotten to a decay state…what a state?
How do we get here?

How do we get to this point?
Where things has so decayed
Like a rotten tomato corpse 

Polluting the land
Spending the labours of our founding fathers
In an extravagant spending

Not for the land of our motherland
But for a selfish motivated motive
Drunk with the intoxicated wine
Of power, greed, nepotism, corruption
And utmost uncareless heart for the land
How do we get here?
