It all starts within
From the inside, it shows outside
We chase what doesn’t fit to chase
As we begin to lose the essence from within
The danger of low expectation

Will begin to fade out of ourself
To become what our minds tell
Right from within we sold out
Our confidence of ourself in ourself
Our esteem drips and drops at the crescendo

It looms so close that we can see it
Coming from afar until it gets to us
Hitting us like a thunderbolt
Shakes us to the fiber of our existence
We begin to lose the essence of our existence

Our expectation about us drops
Little by little it fades out from our sight
And beclouded us with what we were not
As we begin to settle into what we did not bargain for at first
We resign to fate and flow along with it

You begin to settle for that
Which is not your value
Which is far below your standard for existence
Remember how it started
From inside of us it grew like a tree outside

It all starts from within
From the inside of us
Because desperation will make you
Settle for something that is
Not your value and your worth

The danger of low expectation
It is like an epidemic a ravaging monster it is
It fears no age and status
You must make sure you are well equipped
