How You Started

Family Portrait - Montreal 1963Image by Mikey G Ottawa via Flickr
Remember how you started?
Then you are nobody
And God matters so much to you
Your family was a thing of concern to you
And your friends and peers you never
For once leave

Then it was not like this
You were so humble and respectful
But over night you change
From what you are use to be
To something one can not fathom

Where did this habit suffice
Oh! I see it has gotten into the head
What, if I may ask? Fame
Just over night you’ve wore a mask
Remember how you started

Think on this
Any river that forget it’s source
Will definitely run dry
Then you are nobody now you are somebody
Nobody matters any more

Remember one day
You get back to your formal state
Then only then I will see
What you will fall back on
Think through and act fast

How you started so long
Close to God as a sticker to a door post
So close to your family
So found been around your friend
How about now

Remember when you are nobody God was there for you
Your family where there for you
Your peers and friends were there
Now you are somebody you’ve bid farewell to them all
Remember how you started…think on this

Preparing to Die Well

Even death Is to be feared by those
Who live wisely?
What we fear at the end of our life
Is the great incompleteness
That we do not do

What we were born to do
Death is part of life
But to embrace death
We must know we have lived
The last cycle of the evening

Of your life is about preparing to die
To learn to let go of it
Until you learn to die
You don’t know how to live
Until you incorporate your understanding

Of your assimilation in the end
You don’t know how to live your life
It can be borrowed or twenty years from now
You don’t know But if you learn
To embrace it as part of life

Then you can live
Preparing to die find happiness
Living in the moment
Death gives life Its urgency but also
We can accept and embrace this truth
We can not live with hope Preparing to die well

In the Face of Competition

Out there is made for those
Who can stand still tall?
Sticking their head out
To stand in the midst of it all
In the face of competition

As the tides of competition
Grows fonder in the business world
The heat is on recession beaten hard
The battle line is drawn
And that battle is the survive of the fittest

Only those who stick their head out
Will live to face the victory line
Is not all about names and size
But to the one who’s got something to offer
And that is the super brand

In the face of stiff competition
Beef up more customer relation
And seek out new ways of getting new customer
Turning prospect to client, clients into customer
That only then you can get to the finish line
To stand in the face of competition.

SEE THE NEED

I look every where
I see a need so much to be done
And am so concern about it all
The state and standard of living
Among people

Out of the street of our city
Children hawking its touches my spirit
My heart aches for them there’s a within
My soul felt sympathizing for their ones
Spending their early years earning end’s meat

Then I turn my eyes to the other sides
I see pregnant women hawking
Carry their wears
Some on their head…… others on their hand
In that condition still hawking from street to street

But why all this
Can’t there be a way out of this
What’s the nation, leaders those in government
Doing to all this happening

No Single Leader worth Dying For

Leaders are made never born
They made history with their style of leadership
Some amounting to something others not at all
They pull the crowd emerging out to wanting to be the best
No single leader worth dying for

The state of our nation is dilapidation
No one wants to rise up to the nation building
As her walls are falling down amounting to nothing
The power is intoxicating each one wants to have an office
But is everyone qualify to be called a leader

Leaders are made but they are never born
Ordinary people we all are
All the walls are falling down
No more children off to war…hawking around the cities
Bring the children back home…off the road into the classroom

Many has come and gone
But the system remains the same
No single leaders worth dying for
We must seek that change we want to see
A leader must be the one who’s got the heart for others

So many things seeks attention
The educational system…infrastructural system
Our high ways (roads)…the power sector
Aviation...lets leave that for another day....
