A NATION THAT WILL SEEK

A land flowing with milk and honey
Where human capacity building
Is the key to nation building
Where there is service well paid for
At the end of each service year

A nation whose justice system
Is working for all not just for the elite only
A nation where peace reigns
And takes the centre stage
A nation will seek

A nation where each person
Religious believe is respected
And accepted in good faith
Not undermining this person religion
Exhorting it above your own religion

A nation where elected ones in office
Are held accountable in service to the people
As the people are the ones who put them in office
Awarding workable and visible contracts
Not a ghost contract with flits of ghost workers

A nation will seek
Is a nation where everything works
Especially health sector
In which all can afford and giving no room
For seeking medical attention and appointment abroad

A nation will seek
Where our schools are up and running
Without the fear of been on strike
And no leaders children schooled outside
The shore of our great nation

A nation will seek
Where our security operatives
Are equipped with the needs materials
To make their work effective and been
At any crime scene right on time

A nation will seek
Where righteousness reign like a might streams
Where peace and justice reigns like an ocean
Where love holds no boundary
Where there is service to humanity
Without getting nothing in return

AT 62

Will don’t know our left from right
Will don’t know which way will are headed
Will don’t know when we started
Will don’t know how long it will take to get to the promised land
At 62

Will are still chasing an empty shadow
That cannot stand erect
All because we have sold out our sovereignty
Amidst other nations of the world
Where we exist in just chasing an empty shadow

At 62
Will still crawl like a baby of yesterday
Who just got into this space called the world
Who looks back and has not yet achieved
Still going round the circle of life

Chasing what was not meant to be chased
While our land lavish in abject poverty
We are losing it all as a sunset breaks
And the land looks like it has been accused
At 62

Where did will get it wrong
By this age of ours our nations
Shouldn’t be wallowing in setback
Retrogressing instead of moving forward
At 62

We must arise as an individual
Forgetting the one in government
Because that has failed us all big time
The fixing of this nation lies in our hands
And we must save her remains before 63 comes

Is in your hands is in my hands
As elections loom around the corner
This is the best time to build our nation
For us to be better off than who we are
In the last 62 years we’ve spent as a nation

ARE WILL DEPENDENT OR INDEPENDENT?

For so long ago
Many, many years ago
Some decades way back
Will stood to sign for emancipation
To be freed from the colonial master

But many years have come and gone
Can will say of a truth
Without a shadow of a doubt
Are will really a sovereign state
Free from the dependency of foreign aid

How long shall our leaders
Go to G8 meeting to lend
Miga pinot that will enslave
The whole nation born and unborn
Into debt servicing how long shall stand

At the mercy of foreign aids
To run the affairs of our nation
Begging from one continent to another
Living from hand to mouth
Yet we are screaming but wait

Before you scream
Happy independent day
Are we are really dependent or independent
While so many of our leaders
Have turned into parasites living under the host

Milking the nation's treasure
While the masses pay dearly for it
Inflation is rising high and Tax is overkilling
And yet we say we are independent
While most of the nation's consumption is imported from outside

So my dear fellow countrymen and women
Before you chant the independent song
Make sure you do ask yourself
An honest thought-provoking question
Are will dependent or independent

THE SPIRIT OF GRATEFULNESS

Like the Spirit that came
Upon king David it came that day
As the sanctuary is filled with grateful worshippers
The electrifying voice of the people
As the singers choir lift up their voice

The Spirit of David came down
The whole house was filled
With the spirit of dance each one
Everyone expresses their joyfulness
Both in singing and dancing unto the Lord

In the Spirit of gratefulness
Heart and hands are lifted high
To the most High who sit on
The throne on High with a melodious tune
All with one mind, soul and body

So grateful for everything
For life and family
For good health and protection
For manifold increase in all sides
Grateful oh my God to You for everything.

ABORTION: OUR NEXT ELECTION

Open your heart, let the effulgence of this light I'm about to share, walk through your arteries and flush out every dark areas filled with inhumane blood flowing in your veins.

Why will another long term of service in a worthy seat of honour become a battlefield for jocularity and idiosyncratic walkthrough?
Africa is a continent with great elites and noteworthy figures who can shake the world with what's in our hands. Nigeria, a nation, whose millions of citizens are recognized all over the world yet her top leadership seat is not sheathing her sword of ill-mannerism and inability to cause a positive change.

Here, our next election, hits us soon with all activities/schedules of voting been made available at every nooks and crannies in state governments, cities and its suburbs. And, we all shout, 'solidarity forever'.

When a husband got pissed off because of lack of funds to manage his wife and four kids. Along the way, she got pregnant again in same poverty. And everyone advised that she abort the child even if the foetus is 7 months old.

I ask myself, "Is that the needed solution to the problem?"
What a painful lifestyle!
In same vein, this kind of scenario is been played out in our elections - whereby we're in dire need of a solution to the mess of the nation and still yet, many advisers come together to abort the already impregnated ideas of the right candidates because of godfathers order, money bags, selfishness and bad agendas.
Leadership position is not a do or die affair neither is it a call to unbridled power against your fellow human. Let your heart judge you!

A stranger I met says, "Election, election, election. What will be, will be; and nothing can change it in this nation, Nigeria." What a shame!
Will our civil right to vote be aborted again? Won't our votes be discarded and trashed? When will the chosen candidate with the highest vote stop deceiving us?

In these questions, are answers that we need to take to heart and be ready to dedicate our lives by coming together as a nation poised to eradicate bad and ineffective leaders whose bellies are their gods and pockets, a bloody mint.

Embrace a free and fair election, tilt your heart towards building a great nation and don't allow your vote to be a waste by selling it off for filthy amount of naira. Don't vote for the sake of selfish reason. It pays to vote for the benefit of all Nigerians and let's join hands together for the unity of ethnicity, religiosity, and a common purpose - peace and love.

Wisdom is spelt out in this micropoetry of Omar Nassar on corruption which explains the reduced honour of our so-called leaders and their leadership styles.

Where life is always uncertain
when corruption is the fountain
of every perceived earthly evil
money can break a mountain
and the corrupt can rarely be evil
because they belong to the devil.

Conclusively, this coming election must not be a norm of abortion that had been around us for donkey years.
Transformation is not lip say, it's a paradigm shift for new heights beyond the usual to unusual act of undaunted patriotism.
Know that, your civil right is voting right on election day.

Thanks. God bless you.
