We have to awake to reality
We’ve been here for so long
See Nigeria cannot change by someone else
But by Nigerians this is your land

As new administration emerge
With is old one paving way for the new ones
Comes a transition into an era of new set of leadership
Our roads are still the same with its pothole
Our educational system still in the same old fashion way
Our infrastructure development still living in the past same
One reforms coming in and going out still nothing is attain

Here comes a clarion calls to one and all
Are from the east, north, south and west
We can change our nation if we play our roles very well
Our nation Nigeria, our roles abiding with rules and regulation
Payment of our taxes our civil responsibilities as citizen
Our nation is states and local government
Our roles praying for the peace of our nation
Our nation community and society, our roles community service
Our nation speak well of it, our roles investing and inviting investors

Only then we can seat down and say we’ve gotten there
I believe in Nigeria cause Nigeria is bless by God
This is our nation and our roles as citizen
Is to upheld justice fight corruption
To make Nigeria shine we must seek for the betterment
Of our nation and never fail in our roles as citizens

Strangers @ Home

Prefab Housing in South Parkway, LeedsImage via Wikipedia

What a nation…what a people
Who lives in their own father’s land?
And feels like strangers @ Home
In their own house
Living in abject poverty and penury

The state of the nation is quite alarming
Many things have failed to work out
The ill-reforms never a result oriented achievement
Epileptic power with the low and fallen standard of education
Unemployment loom in the land

Then, are we not strangers @ Home?
Without any access to what makes life good
As a citizen of the nation the child of the soil
What a pitiable state with unpitiable leaders
Strangers @ Home

Hummm what a situation
We are here in suspense
Sick and tired about the nation
What is going on each day?
So alarming and too hard to bear

The state of the nation
With her power shortage
With a fallen standard of education
With embezzlements of public fund
No free hearing, sweeping off the rule of law
Under the carpet

Different Nigeria

A look into the society
The people that lives in there
The ways of life and deeds
Manner of living from day to day
It tells of what tomorrow
Will look like the future

Because our nation
Needs rebirth of anew face
Of a nationhood with visionary leaders
Who sees light in the dark
Needs a result oriented reforms
A change from the old nature
To a new statehood of nationhood

A moment we site
On the table of brotherhood
Irrespective of the tribe, religion and party affiliation
Without the fear of the person sitting next to us
A moment in time
When corruption has been sent on an exile
When our system is clean and cleanse spotless
Different Nigeria

Leaders and followers
Become men and women of honor
Ready to serve for a good course
Not for self seeking purpose
Whom the love of office cannot buy

Instill in each all
God’s fear and spirit
Where righteousness is held in high esteem
Esteeming God above any other thing
Making Him the first in all decision
Different Nigeria

Welcome to a new dawn
Of the rebirth of a new statehood
Out of the crowd single out
The space setter a nation
Flourishing in plenty and great things
You are here the Different Nigeria

Nigerian Dream

We dream of a better country
A country in which righteousness reign
With holiness taking the center stage
In every life, home, schools and offices
This is the Nigerian Dream

We wish for a nation
Void of corrupt practices, injustices and crisis
A nation with a future assured
We seek and look for a better country
Where the heart is at home

Not a country of woes and lashing of terror
Neither people of shaded character
So filled and thirsty for power
Wanting to get power by all means
Do or die affairs the Nigerian Dream

Turning back the hands of time
Recovering the lost glory of Nigeria
The rebirth of a new face of Nigeria
Looking for a better country
Nigeria

Nigeria must be fix by Nigerians
Must be built by Nigerians
Cause we have no other home elsewhere
That we can call our home
This is the Nigeria Dream
This is your land

Did anyone ever tells you?
Did anyone ever say?
Do you capture the vision of glory?
Spans o’er the distant land
So held on to the Nigeria Dream

Another day has come again
To cast back our mind and reflect
Of our beloved fatherland Nigeria
The question here is how has it been?
Where are we coming from and where are we headed?
A moment of celebration and reflection

Our nation and our role
Years ago some visionaries
Fought for our liberation and freedom
Yes we are free but are we really free indeed?
Nigeria@50 quite a long journey
Jubilee age and we’ve come thus far

How is it today?
The economy and education
The politics its electoral process
The roads and power supply
The reforms program
The state of the nation

What have we achieve as a nation
In the past years
Are still where we are
Living in the past or present
Chasing shadows an empty shadow
Or a walking shadow just empty without nothing

As we celebrate today
Lets take time out to reflect
Is it necessary? Wait…
Instead lets use this time
To seek for a way out of the mess
Recovering Nigeria@50.
