It’s a
scary world
It
means something is going to change
It’s
like when you’re watching a movie
And
suddenly the background music starts
Sounding
a little tense, a little sinister
Something
is going to be different
Life
is moving along in one direction
And
then something happens to move it
In
another direction and then life changes
And
nothing is ever the same again
For
lots of us, that word “until”
Had a
good meaning at some point in our lives
We
were barreling down an expressway to hell
Living
totally for ourselves, with no thought for God until
Until
we met the Lord Jesus Christ
He
gave us a new heart, a new purpose, a new lease on life
And a
new destination. That was a great ‘until.”
The
best “until” there ever was
But
not all “until” are good Uzziah wasn’t
Remember,
earlier in the chapter it said that this man
Did
right in the sight of the LORD” and that he “sought
God during
the days of Zechariah, who instructed him
In the
fear of God”
Uzziah
was God’s man
He
followed God’s ways and pursued God’s friendship
He was
a student of the Word and learned at the feet
Of a
great Bible teacher he did had God’s approval on it
He
ruled over Judah with the smile was successful!
Until…
Until
something happened
Until
something changed
Until
he turned in another direction
Until
he chose to remove himself from God’s protection and power
And
life was never the same after that
