YOUR ACTIONS REFLECT YOUR CONSCIENCE

Our values direct our actions
And the ways we act in the world
Continually shape our personal authority
Ethical actions strengthen our conscience
Unethical actions weakens it

It’s really that simple
And our actions are directly
Shaped by our programming
Our thoughts and our values
As your actions reflect your conscience

It’s easier to act ethically
When you know what you value
If you connect with people personally or professionally
Whose values are different from yours
It can cause you to veer off course

We’ve probably all succumbed at one time
Or another to the temptation to cross the line
Caught up in the emotion of the moment
And the desire to please others
Or a certain goal we go off in the wrong direction

But with a strong and clear conscience
You won’t be blown off course for long
You will turn around and once again
Head toward the way you should go
Your action determines all about you

Your actions speak so loudly
That I cannot hear what you say
Our actions are clearest indicator
Of the state of our conscience
Steadfast adherence to a strict moral code

Those how have integrity unified
In that their thoughts words and deeds
Are in line with their values and conscience
They are whole individuals
They are people you can trust

I hope you are one of those people
Let your actions reflects
Your value and your conscience
And you’ll experience the wholeness
That integrity brings

WHAT’S NOT FAIR

When life is not fair
When all about life
Is that shortcoming and this shortcoming
When life is full of disappointment
What’s not fair

When you walk and work tirelessly hard
And pull that effort…these resources
Yet you still remain at the bottom of the ladder
And you’re not climbing up but remain there
What’s not fair

When you search and search
For a lasting loving companion
Yet love refuses to visit nor blink an eye your way
But just series of heartbreak been taking for fool
What’s not fair

When you watch others walked pass by in peers
And you are just one person mopol
With no backup anywhere
You build and chase your dream in the dark
Attain success in the dark all alone by yourself

What’s not fair
When you’ve labored and relentless work
Just to make your family live the life they desired
And it seems reaching that goal is
Far to reach too hold to touch

Locked up in your own world
Sick and snare by false affiliations everywhere
Fake smiles coupled with chicken kinds of love
A pain in the neck…the pinch of an enemy
Becoming deadly than the stab of a friend

What’s not fair
When the one you deeply love
Never reciprocated back the affection you have inside of you
When you’ve got to work on yourself
To cut some so much excess here and there
In becoming a better person
That you use to be yesterday in today for the future and for that special person

DESTROYING THE THING WE LOVE

Our past shape our present
The past hurts and resentment
Suffice all the time when we have it near
Having what we love and adores most to our heart
The past all of a sudden suffice

To destroy and ruin all what we desire
That brings us so much joy and happiness
I know my past is the making of the ruin
Of the moment struggle so much to overcome it
Destroying the thing we love

We struggle to let it go
With so much help within
And all around people thinks one is too aggressive
And not been willing to let it go
When it hurts so bad like a volcano erupting inside

Deep within scream for help
Seeking urgent rehab like a psycho
Who is losing it all out not been able to contain it all
Allowing the past life to ruin the present life
Destroying the thing we love

Have got lots of excesses
With this short coming and that weakness
All littered here and there I can’t just help it
Without any shadow of doubt I know am not fine
And needed help ‘cos myself is getting the best of me

Like a thunder bolt it hits one hard
Hard to the deepest part of one
Everything is falling just apart
Life becomes uninteresting to staying in
Destroying the things will love the past catching up

Lord help me to let go of the past
And to come into that full healing of the past
To chase after life and move on in becoming a better place
Have tried and toil on my own I let go and let God
Help me and heal me so I wont keep
Destroying the things I love

MADU OR ANUMANU

Is either you are madu
Or the other way round anumanu
A sober question to ponder on
What kind of madu are you?

Are you an onlooker madu
Or the one who go with the crowd
Who is a pain in the neck
Or you are a foe faking friendship
Which are you madu or anumanu

Look here are three kinds of madu
The one who make things happen
The one who watch things happen
The one who let things happen
To which do you belong

Are you chasing the wind
Are living an aimless life
Wondering like a ship whose lost her compass
On the sea of life ravaging by the storms of life
Too weak to stand the fierceness of the wind

Is either you are madu
Or the other way round anumanu
The earlier you realize this and come to terms with it
The better of you becoming the madu
The world we come celebrating someday

Remember this if you forget everything
That you got a date history and that you must keep
Someday you will stand on the stage of life
To share your success story of how far you’ve come
The odds, dejection, rejection and betrayals you surmount

So walk today to become that madu
Whom the world will give room for
Remember the world gives room for the one
Who knows where he or she is going
Which are you madu or anumanu

Don’t be a fool playing anumanu
Who’s got no destination in life

CHOICE IS A CHARACTER

How you act in the world
How your conscience plays out
In the bigger arena determines your character
For you to execute ethically
The most important thing you can
Equip yourself with is good character

It is underpinning for every connection
It should be the underpinning of your life
A good name is better than great riches
Yet we are under so much pressure to perform today
In business and in our personal lives

That it’s easy to succumb
To shades of gray when we try to achieve
Something great of importance
But if you succumb you risk forfeiting
Your good name and losing the character
That should be the very foundation of your life

Character is a choice
You make each and every day
You – character lasting rewards
You – compromise temporary reward
You can take the high road of character
Or the low road of compromise

We’re faced with these small moments
Of choice constantly but even if they seem small
The consistent choices we make will
Determine how ethical we are
Character is a choice

MAKING DIFFICULT CHOICES

Our character is shaped
Most strongly in the moments
When we are called to make difficult choices
Sometimes doing the right thing
Requires personal sacrifice

But the reward is always worth the cost
Undoubtedly there will be times
When you do the right thing
And it causes you or other people pain
Making difficult choices

Owning up to mistake
Is never easy being the only one
In your crowd to say no to another drink is not pleasant
But if you feel the pain because
You’ve done the right thing think of this

When you’re on your deathbed
How will you view your choice to act ethically?
Most of us would prefer to endure
Short term pain if we know the long term consequences
Will make the sacrifice worth it

Gandhi said…
A man is the sum of his action
Of what he has done of what he can do nothing else
The good news is that you can choose your action
Every day you wake up to a clean slate
A brand new day in which to start all over

You don’t have to wait till morning
You can do it right now
Every moment is an opportunity
To choose the right path for the situation

ANIKOKANLO

Hustle like mad
Run the street like a legend
In pursuit to have it all
From dusk to dawn
Been on the trail of been great

All this been here and there
Caught away in the hustle and bustle of life
Life ends meats to make the hustle pay at last
But life itself is nothing but a sleep of a night
Boom it blows up on our eyes rubbing it on our face

We drag this brag that
With all these gara…gara
Been so mean in all to all
Irrespective of what one attains in life
Six feet is the justification of it all

Bi tin laye
It will definitely and surely fade out
With time like in the sun of the morning
Our life like vapor soon it will be gone with the wind
And all we’ve emphases we go

As we leaving it all behind us
When the cold flitting hands of death
Take us and lead us home at the close of the day
See life is just nothing so losing up
Live it while you may because tomorrow may mean goodbye

Remember empty will come empty we return
Anikokanlo that is the true undisputable facts
Acquire this property that wealth
Got this certificate got that prestige
Chase that deadline achieve that dream

When life is over and you close your eyes
With hands fold up and body becomes cold
Anikokanlo bi tin laye so while it is call today
Remember that life is nothing inspite all of what you acquire
It will all end in six feet nothing beyond that
And we are not taking anything out of this world called life

ILE ANUOLUWA KIN SHI

The steadfastness of our Lord
Never fails His mercies never comes to an end
They are new every morning
Great is thy faithfulness
Ile anuoluwa kin shi

From the foundation of the world
God’s faithfulness remain in exhaustible
From the greatness of His boundless mercy
That transcends beyond human reasoning
Ile anuoluwa kin shi

In every imagination God is good
His loving kindness keeps on coming to us
Even when our ways seems far from Him
He still made a way for us and bring us back
To the father’s house ile anuoluwa kin shi

From the north to the south
The greatness of God’s mercy speaks
To the East far across the west
His faithfulness spreads far beyond land o’er hills
Ile anuoluwa kin shi

Who am I that you are so mindful of
Who am I that you so love me so much
Who am I that I deserve all this so much grace
Who am I that you never let go or give up on me
Who am I that your mercies comes alive every morning
Ile anuoluwa kin shi

Of a truth God’s mercies so plenty
Little wonder He went to Calvary for my sake
God’s grace came at a time when I don’t deserve it
His unfailing promises are ever there at all time
Ile anuoluwa kin shi

THE NIGERIA OF MY DREAM

We lived in a country where we seek for justice for all
And wants the best for all citizens be it rich or poor
Where live matters irrespective of who you are
As where we are from are not the bases of how we are treated
Be it in the mood house or in the mansion all are equals

Where no one is afraid to seek redressing in the court of law
Where the law of the land is favourable to one and all
Where no thieves of public or private funds are left scot free
As each government officials are held accountable
For every penny of the state’s money and tax payers money

A country where the one living on the mainland
Will not have to endanger is or her life in leaving home so early
To beat the Lagos traffic just to get to work on time
Where teachers who prepares lesson note
And end up teaching in an unfit classroom devoid of future and fittings

A country where we have good road network
Void of series of causalities all because
Of bad road filled the pothole on every turn of the wheel
Avoid long waste of time and manpower hour
The Nigeria of my dream

Where we beginning to see political offices
As a will to serve humanity not to an ends
To emerses wealth for ourselves and our family
Likewise generations unborn leaving the resources
Of this great nation in the hands of selected few just in a circle

A Nigeria dream where all sectors are working
Be it education, power, housing, job creation etc
Where we uphold nothing but justice
Where a looter of funds is never celebrated
Where our judicial system delivered unbiased verdict on time

Oh God of creation
Direct our noble course
Guide thou our leaders right help
The youth the truth to know
The Nigeria of my dream

ENDSARS

We live in a country where everything is lost
Where we just have a mere constitution
In ink and paper like a toothless bull dog
Whose got tooth but just bark and do nothing
Where corruption is at its peak and police brutality reigns like rain

We clamour for the change
And seek to bring the one
Will all voted into power for questioning
But the one who holds the seat of governance
Has turn to the one who is above the law

While we go on and say we practice democracy
Whereas we are not democrat in every system of government
The same constitution state no one is above the law
While those who seat on the seat of governance
See themselves as the high mighty ones

Whose action cannot be question
And it went on and on like that
Many years had come and gone likewise administrations
And yet will still remain on the same war front
We have not even come close to conquest

As the chant continues and lingers
Everyone is watching from a distance
As they have shot some dead
While the dreaded deadly bullet
Leaves a scarce that will forever live in our mind

We march for justice and equity not for violence
We march for emancipation from police brutality
We march for the now see and the future we seek
We march for one course and one creed fair play for all
We march for transformation that we see great reformation

Ending the menace of endsars
How our young ones are misjudge and mistreated
How the one in the government have so boorish this nation
With self seeking selfish pocket of what the belle can consume
Drunk and intoxicated with the wine of power

YOU AND LIFE

You never win except you fight
You can get water under the ground except you dig
You have to run the race before you get to finish line
You never have victory without conquest
You have to fail except you try

You have to contend for the faith to keep the faith
You have to stand against fake for you to have the real thing
You have to have a visit to Calvary before its effect in your life
You never have the taste to finish until you fight for it
You have to contend with death before you know the worth of life

You fail to encourage yourself you will lose everything
You fail to chase your dream you end up been mediocre
You fail to burn the midnight candle you go through life nothing
You fail to sleep away on the bed of idleness you will eat the bread of laziness
You fail to live the life you have society will impose another life to you

If you fail in little areas of life you fail in everything
If you shun the word of an elder in the early days of life
If you refuse to take a walk while it is today you we go the mile tomorrow
If you take notice to the little things here and there about you
If that is done you are bit getting at it you and life

Tomorrow Never Dies

CHALLENGE YOUR CHALLENGES

Do what you can
With what you have
Where you are

Does the word challenge
Give you a queasy feeling
In the pit of your stomach
Does the adrenalin start to flow
Do combined emotions of fear
And uncertainty start to pulse through your veins

Challenges comes in all shapes and sizes
Your age, your nationality, where you live
Whether you’re married or single
Whether you’re the most admired or least admired
None of these matter challenges are part of life

Maybe your life has been one challenges after another
For as long as you can remember
Or you could be one of the fortunate few
For whom life seems to roll along with hardly a bump in the road
But then out of nowhere disaster hits and your world crumbles

You loose your job and don’t know
How you are going to pay your rent or mortgage
You may have lost a loved one
Faced illness, gone through divorce
Cared for elderly parents or dealt with rebellious children

Perhaps you feel overwhelmed and pulled
In so many directions that your relationships
Health and work are suffering big time
Maybe you face increasing pressure
To perform on the job company budget and goals

How do we respond to the challenges in our lives
Many times our first instinct is to run away
Wait remember …Just because challenges come
They don’t have to overcome

No one succeeds in the face of difficulties
By lying down and giving up
We’ve got to respond to challenges
With our strongest efforts

WHO ARE YOU?

This is the question one person
Has been asked one time or the other
What’s your pedigree they say
Fame is not for few
They differentiate the people
Who drink tea to people who soak garri

You can’t seat there they say
It is well deserved because is reserved
And name has been carved
Is for celebrity not for nonentity
Who’s got no ability or financial stability
Who cannot afford utility so bounce you liability

Who are you they say
When it time for admission
They say who are you
I say sir that question is unnecessary
I hit the examination I deserve this institution

Who are you
Do you know the chancellor?
Are you friends with the governor?
Do you dine with the senator?
Is your father the administrator?
Are you related with the chancellor?
Tell me do you no the monitor
Do you have enough money tell me

Who are you?
Do I have to be a jagaban to listen to a band
Do I have to wear Versace to eat suace
Do I have to wear gold trinket to take picture on red carpet
Do I have to be guided by corps to visit Transcop
Do I have to have iphone to seat in the front roll
Why can’t you see me for me

While does my world be determine
By the money in account or the casher in my account
Or the words in my mouth
Or the selfies on Facebook which most are not real
The followers on twitter don’t make me any better

They say go exercise franchise go cast your vote
On getting there I find out the vote
Has already been decided was that me
When I laugh they said while e dey laugh
When I take they say whose taken

When I write
They say who is written
They don’t want to know
What I have to say
All what they just want to know
Sha hustle don pay

Whether e take tea or I take pab
At the end of the day na the same hot water
Even sure bet is not so sure after all
One commits a crime and is name ring a bell
And they say bail him

Another commits a crime but
He is not in the hall of fame they jail him
Cell, hell criminal you are curse son of hate
That man must pay for this
Or the criminal is the one
Without money in the high places

When I speak at a turn
They say who the hell do you think you are
Well I’ll tell who the heaven think I am
Am the voice of the one
Crying in our nation hosanna
Am the beginning of a new era

The end of injustice and the beginning of power
A skyscraper of peace am a trail blazer of unity
Am young, am vibrant am strong am intelligent
Am a million microchips definitely for peace
Have got the energy you lack and courage back to back
Am a story to be told and a wonder to behold

Am more than conqueror
Greater than the governance
Am from the deity of divinity
From the tribe of lines
No chains and boundaries
Am a time bomb waiting to explode

Am history waiting to happen
Am like a current of an ocean
You cannot stop my flow
One day surely we go blow
The street na by grace

Am the correction of your past mistakes
Am the activation of your future estate
Am the product of grace have got the length of days
Am the hope of this generation
Am the celebrity you see on television

Am a Christian
Am a believer
Am a bold and daring Nigerian youth

MADU

Like a rat it come to one
Eat ones foot but you cannot know
As two tasks is carried out
As the rat is eating your foot
There is a cold breeze that follows

So unpredictable
With venom like a snake in the heart
Ready to devour with the poison from the tongue
That comes out from the smile behind the scene
A foe in disguise

That a being so nice and found to be and talk with
Will someday turns out to be
A foe with the nicest deadly act
As each day breaks the one nice being
Has become like a book the left the shelf

But such is life
As human we are all bound to change
Is either you are gone with the wind
Or ravage by the storm of betrayal
Everything is lost like the name written in the sand

The one once praised today
We become like a trash tomorrow
Just as an intangible un-estimable assets
The heart of human are like a course
You cannot graduate from
That is madu for you

So when you meet with a stranger today
Don’t rush in labeling that said stranger
All such of wonderful, awesome and loving names
Because human is like a book that has a sweet opening
But no one knows what lays ahead the pages ahead

So get your guards ready
Be on your guard always
Don’t trust easily to give it out such a trust cheaply
Be realistic go with your instinct and sense
Madu are so beautiful in nature and character

I pray we all survive the moment
When the perfect stranger turns
Out to be foe ravaging us
You don’t know who got your back or
Who wants you out of the game
Life is a jungle you got to keep your head up high
Madu…

PRAISE YOU IN THE STORM

Although the fig tree shall not blossom
Neither shall fruit be in the vines
The labour of the olive shall fail
And the fields shall yield no meat
The flock shall be cut off from the fold
And there shall be no herd in the stalls

Yet I will rejoice in the Lord
I will joy in the God of my salvation
With all that is in us all
Let’s come boldly with faith in our heart
Even in the midst of the storm
Let our praise be ascend to You Lord

Even when the night seems so cold
And the troubles and cares of this life
Comes hitting at our door step
Strip down of all our courage
Beaten and bartered by the storms of life

Irrespective of what happens
Let our praise never cease
To rise up and descend up high
Like a sweet smelling savour
Up high to our creator up high in the sky

Praise you in the storm
When I cannot see tomorrow
When it seems too far to reach
Too hot to hold but my anchors hold
Praise in the storm

Many of us have journeyed
Through the long dark night
Out on the open sea
By faith alone sight unknown
And yet His eyes watches you

The anchor holds
Though the ship is scattered
The anchor holds though storms may stumble
And you are falling on your kneels
As you face the raging seas but the anchor holds inspite of the storm
