The table on which a decision
Of a nation would be determine
By that meeting on the table of brotherhood
The meeting give birth
To an awaken of independent
The new birth of a nation
Void of detectorship
To build a nation
After years of independent
Of that single meeting
Behind a close door
A brainstorming session
Then and now how is it?
Our founding father
Opted for a great nation
That’s what they want and prayed for
One nation bound in nothing
But in peace and unity
One nation what of today
Are we not having a nation
Filled with all manners of things
Corruption, nepotism, tribalism
Partisan, divided in all ways
Look out the street
Innocent citizens been harassed
Suffering and smiling
The wealth of her nation
Is left in the hands of few citizens
With all these
Can we say we are living up
To the desire our founding fathers
To build one nation where peace and justice shall reign
Is that truly happen in the nation of today
Will our founding father look down
From above up there in heaven
And beat their chest and rest in perfect peace
Over the nation they’ve giving their life for
With that zeal, vision, enthusiasms and creed
Am not sure whether they can’t do it
But with the state of the nation it will be with pain
To you, to me
Is it really true
Are we building that nation
That our founding fathers
Have in mind at the inception of independent

What a sobering thought
A nation build on justice
Now injustice is the other of the day
A nation build on fairness
Now corruption and nepotism at its peaks
A nation where rule of law is upheld
Now some people feels above the law
A nation where we all share part in its resources
Now the wealth of this nation is left in the hands of few
The richer are getting rich every day
As we march on towards the poll
In some days time to decide
To entrust the mouton of leadership
On that individual that will channel
The course of this great nation for the next four years
Let’s reflect on this word
“Today build a nation
Where peace and justice shall reign”
Is peace really and truly reign
In all boarders of our nation
Out there in the various state
What of among political parties
Among the various sector of the country
We’ve got to reflect where are we coming from
Where are we going and what have we able to attain
After independent have we succeeded build that nation
