God Give me Back my Tomorrow

Homeless and hungryImage by Ed Yourdon via Flickr

There are voices
On the road of life
And I have made choices
That I know weren’t right
And they brought me to my knees
At the end of lonely street
And I am standing here today
I want to say…

God give me back my tomorrow
I threw tomorrow away
He took this life full of sorrow
Suddenly every thing change
The moment it happens it was
Like walking in the dark
When the light comes shinning through
God give me back my tomorrow

When you’re struggling with
The quilt and shame
You traded your tomorrow
And all you got to show for it
Was heartache and pain

And it brought you to your knees
At the end of a lonely street
He is standing there today
He’ll help you say
The moment it happens

Like walking in the dark
When the light comes shinning through
I said that
God give me back my tomorrow
