Democracy Day: Many Years Down The Line

So many years down the line

Our nation bathed the breathe of a new fresh air

Of been among the democrat nation

Ranking and rubbing shoulders with our fellow canter part

Practising democracy but how long have we come?

Have we been able to retain the real definition?

Of been a democrat state as we march on

To celebrate yet another dawn of a new dawn

Of democracy day of what effect has it has on us

After so many years in eyes of the rest of the world

Democracy day: many years down the line

To you out there on the street of this great nation

The one in government for so many years

Democracy the government for the people by the people

Delivering the real mandate of the essence of government

Democracy Day: Many years down the line

Has our leaders in all state and constituency delivered

Have they really work towards making our nation

What we really do practice or are will just fooling ourselves

Who are we really fooling and who is fooling who

The time has come when the truth must be told

There comes a time when silent becomes a betrayer

Is better you speak up for change or remain silent for life

And generation ahead still to come will not forgive

Because you had a chance to speak up but you shut up

Time has come for you to speak for a better democracy

So many years down the line and is now time to sit

To recount taken inventory of how it has all been

After so many years of been a democrat state

Democracy day: Many years down the line

Is now time to wake up from the slumber

Of not attaining the true essence of democracy

There no better time than now to begin

Revisit to the dashboard and see where we miss it out

The real essence of democracy for the people by the people

Of a truth we need to checkmate as a nation

To see where we miss it out

To see what and what we’ve not been doing well

No matter what has happen in time past it is now to wake up
