Screaming For Independence

Fifty years a nation was born
Transform from been an existing land
To a statehood and later she attend nationhood
Transforming into republic
After so many years of series debate

On attaining independent
As each moment fades away
Gradually and little by little
She was left alone with her few selected citizen
To drive the course of her existence for life

That one meeting change the history
Of the whole affairs of that country
And she begin to rule her country
Base on the dedicates of the Queen
And for some times she got what it takes

To now stand alone
Government was good
People live in affluence
And no on is pointing accusing finger
On that government official

Then everyone work his hands to bone
To make sure they see the country
That they dream of and what to be
They walk while you are sleep
They scream against tribalism and nepotism

As corruption is seen as the greatest sin
Been a taboo that should be thought inside the heart
Talkless about to less to speak it out
Everyone serves as a watch dog towards his neighbour
So many years down the line fifty years has come and gone

Is it still that same way today
In the Nigeria of today where you and I live
See the masses suffering and smile
Going along with the same slogan “e go better”
For how long will seat and discuss on this spot

Yet nothing is working
Will have been in age long war with corruption
Yet we haven’t reach a conquest talkless of emancipation
At fifty seven (57) have we really been there
Is it really happy yet another independence celebration?
