FORGOTTEN LAND

We cannot just seat
On this space called the pity table
Seated around this pig hole
Talking for long hours as longer
Everyone got so much to talk

Exploring their prose
Of great intellects
Exhuming their arsenal of vocabulary
On the age long matter without concrete ends
On a subject matter a forgotten land

There is so much to do
In this great nation we claim will belong to
Been referred to as the giant of Africa
Where we eminent from
Forgotten land

Is high time we rise and speak for ourselves
No longer the one we bear the touch of leadership
That we all know to be called the government
Ruled by selected few in dedicating the pace for us all
Forgotten land

It all starts with honesty, peace, justice and truth
Enough of hiding in the four walls
With the age long slogan ‘e go better’ for how long will it
But to start giving sacrifice to the nation this great nation
Not what government can do for us all but our own self

But what we can do for us
Because is like a book that left the shelf long ago
A land filled with milk and honey now
Now so dried and drain of her resources
Is not the time to fan the air of hate speech

Castigating that person and pointing accusing fingers
In that house built well with the nations treasury
So hard to be penetrated into like a rock which is so hard
But what we can do for self in creating that nation we seek
Not a forgotten land ‘cos our founding father’s never sees it like that

They left it in the care of our mother
That’s while is referred today as motherland
Where there offspring’s were birthed, nurtured to greatness
Not a forgotten land just as it has been turned to today
By some set of select few drunk by power and selfishness
