THE DEMAND OF OUR FAITH

Only Christianity places you on
A constant endurance test
Tasks you to build your
Emotional and mental dexterity
And drill you to bring out the best version you can ever be

Its not easy but you’ll be better for it
Christian race is not a tea party
Its not one to ease where you can do as you like
Its quite regimented this is however
Isn’t surprising as our Lord Jesus

The author and Finisher of our faith
Has already given us heads-up about
The demand of the Christian faith
At one point, He said anyone
Who claims to belong to Him

Must be ready to take up their cross and follow Him
We all know that the Cross represents
Pain, suffering, discomfort, tears and so on
At another time He insists that anyone who decides
To follow Him must first count the cost

In other words
You must acknowledge and understand
The demand of following him
The struggles we experience as Christian aren’t
Only external struggles there are

Internal conflicts too
The flesh your natural self
Wants to continue
To loud it over you
The demands of our faith

The Christian life isn’t static
Its dynamic and it requires growth
Someone once said anything that doesn’t
Put a demand on us to grow as human beings
Isn’t worth giving ourselves to
