There is something about the future
That challenges everyone
We want things to be better
And most of us have faith
That things will be better

If we decry the past and present
Because of their problems
We still have faith
That the future can improve
Facing the future with courage and hope

There is a certain amount
Of optimism for the future
Even among those who are
Disenchanted with life
Tired and lost hope of living

Faith that things will be good
Or better has to involved a look
At ourselves for we are the ones
Who will have to act if life
Is going to improve
