Preparing to Die Well

Even death Is to be feared by those
Who live wisely?
What we fear at the end of our life
Is the great incompleteness
That we do not do

What we were born to do
Death is part of life
But to embrace death
We must know we have lived
The last cycle of the evening

Of your life is about preparing to die
To learn to let go of it
Until you learn to die
You don’t know how to live
Until you incorporate your understanding

Of your assimilation in the end
You don’t know how to live your life
It can be borrowed or twenty years from now
You don’t know But if you learn
To embrace it as part of life

Then you can live
Preparing to die find happiness
Living in the moment
Death gives life Its urgency but also
We can accept and embrace this truth
We can not live with hope Preparing to die well
