How You Started

Family Portrait - Montreal 1963Image by Mikey G Ottawa via Flickr
Remember how you started?
Then you are nobody
And God matters so much to you
Your family was a thing of concern to you
And your friends and peers you never
For once leave

Then it was not like this
You were so humble and respectful
But over night you change
From what you are use to be
To something one can not fathom

Where did this habit suffice
Oh! I see it has gotten into the head
What, if I may ask? Fame
Just over night you’ve wore a mask
Remember how you started

Think on this
Any river that forget it’s source
Will definitely run dry
Then you are nobody now you are somebody
Nobody matters any more

Remember one day
You get back to your formal state
Then only then I will see
What you will fall back on
Think through and act fast

How you started so long
Close to God as a sticker to a door post
So close to your family
So found been around your friend
How about now

Remember when you are nobody God was there for you
Your family where there for you
Your peers and friends were there
Now you are somebody you’ve bid farewell to them all
Remember how you started…think on this
