Democracy Day: Recovering the Lost Democracy

I know we’ve been through a lot
As a nation in the past years

Has become so many troubles
With heartaches that comes along with
Event unfold with each attached with bitter experiences

The government is thrown into confusion
As she has lost its efficacy and immunity
Leaving sheltered and whether by the storm that ravage the state of the nation
As caution is thrown into the wind
No trust, faith and confident anymore

Everything is in deserter
Each one watches out for himself
No one wants to arise to duty
Folding hands seating just there
Wanting to do less to nothing

What can I do?
Am I the government?
Things have been this way for long
Let me too have the national cake
Without not saying anything

Yet each day
Things are getting spoil
No hope of redemption
Its song are gone to lost
Is this how will can recover the lost democracy

That was lost
To corruption…nepotism
Drunken with the wine of malpractice
Intoxicated with low infrastructural facilities
We march on from one celebration to another

Yet everything remain the same
Carrying along with the slogan
It will get better lets shall be praying
One day all will be well even in the well

Dig so deep within
Far beyond human comprehension
That we often ask ourselves
Where is this country going to? What is she turning into?
