The Zero Hour

As surely
As the night follows the day
So death comes at the end of life
To the old and also the young
To the highly place and lowly

To the rich and to the poor
To the literate and uneducated
We all we bid this world
Farewell one day
No matter how long we live

All through history
Man has been the only creature
Made aware that he must die
To many the zero hour comes too soon
At a time we are still planning our life

Without not having in mind
Their unpredicted inevitable quiet end
No wonder Thomas Watson once counseled
Let them fear death who do not fear sin
