STATE OF SECURITY

If we as a people cannot address
The state of security of our land now
While it is called today
Then when shall do such
See our land nothing is safe again

Except for the one who is in the government house
Ruling as president with its vice
And the various governor and their deputy
Are the ones who is still a bit safe
Just because they go around with military

And the common man
Is left with just himself to watch over
Then who we watch over the common man
That doesn't have no military personal
To cruise around with as he goes out

On a daily basis
The government has failed its citizens
In protecting its life and property
Yet the heat goes on of insecurity
We've come to terms with it
Seeing it as normalcy as we begin to fit in

Our land is accused
Our land lives and flows in blood shared
Our security network is broken down
Our land is taking over by foreigners
Who in return termed to be unknown gunmen

Yet our governor goes around
The media houses with the news
Our state is safe yet they move around
With heavily armed security personal
If at all the land is safe as they profess

I dare them to leave their
Government houses alone
And drive alone to office to and fro
And then we believe the news they are spreading
Of the state been safe

Who are these unknown gunmen?
Where are they from?
What is the course they are actually fighting for?
What is their demand?
State of security

It needs to be addressed with urgency
Because we cannot continue this way
We've lost so many lives and this has to stop
Our security institutions need to call
An urgent retreat to redress and strategize
