A Pitiable State: Nigeria

Logo created for Nigeria Vision 2020Image via Wikipedia

A nation so filled with milk and honey
With so much to offer her citizens at large
With oil and all kinds of mineral resources
There are a lot of unanswered questions about Nigeria
What a state of pity the state of a nation

A leader that says upheld the rule of law
Our nation is sick and needs reformation not ill-reforms
The abounded refineries, the electoral process, the educational systems
Importation of fuel for local consumption what of the refineries?
Sending exorbitant fee on importation the oil we have

Year in year out our schools produce candidates
I see a lot of the Youth Corp member in mass
Without no job for them to do after years of study
Nigeria today is man o! man connection to secure a job
Is that the way it should be? What a pitiable sight to behold
Corruption in all quarters of the nation

A nation void of so many things
Good road, good housing
Good infrastructure in place with lack of maintenance
Good government, good education
Good power supply, good security

See we’ve come of age
We can just carry on
As if there’s no problem at all
Suffering and smiling no
Lets face it the young ones youth
Are sick and frustrated about everything
What is going on to the nation?

See the youths are working
Some are seeking ways to escape
To run away into another man’s land
To become a stranger in someone’s else land
Just to survive ‘cos the matter is getting out of hand
What have we done?

The pastors, musicians and writers
Have talked and talked but no avail
Everything seems there no beacon of hope
Casting deaf hears now is lets be praying
That one day all will be better
